Aaj Ka Panchang, 13 May, 2024: The auspicious festival of Skanda Sashti will be observed on Monday.

AAJ KA PANCHANG, 13 MAY, 2024: The Shashthi Tithi and Saptami Tithi of Shukla Paksha are scheduled to occur on Monday, May 13, according to Drik Panchang. On this day, the sacred festival of Skanda Sashti will be observed.

Skanda is a famous Hindu deity among Tamil Hindus. Lord Skanda is the son of God Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Skanda is regarded as Lord Ganesha’s younger brother in South India but as Lord Ganesha’s elder brother in North India. Skanda is also known by the names like – Murugan, Kartikeyan, and Subramanya.

When organising any event or activity, it is important to consider both the tithi and the auspicious or unfavourable time.

SUNRISE, SUNSET, MOONRISE, AND MOONSET ON MAY 13

The sun is anticipated to rise around 5:31 AM and set around 7:04 PM. Meanwhile, the moon is predicted to rise at 9:54 AM and set at 12:21 AM (May 14).

TITHI, NAKSHATRA, AND RASHI DETAILS FOR MAY 13

The Shashthi Tithi is predicted to last till 2:50 AM, following which the Saptami Tithi will take its place. Following that, the inauspicious Punarvasu Nakshatra is expected to last till 11:23 AM, when the inauspicious Pushya Nakshatra will commence. The moon is projected to be in Karka Rashi (Cancer) throughout this time, while the sun will remain in Mesha Rashi (Aries).

SHUBH MUHURAT FOR MAY 13

As for the auspicious muhurat (timing) on this day: The Brahma Muhurta is anticipated to occur from 4:08 AM to 4:50 AM, followed by the Abhijit Muhurta from 11:51 AM to 12:45 PM. The Vijaya Muhurta is likely to occur from 2:33 PM to 3:27 PM, and the Godhuli Muhurat will take place from 7:03 PM to 7:24 PM.

Nishita Muhurta is projected to take place from 11:56 PM to 12:38 AM on May 14, while the Pratah Sandhya Muhurta is predicted between 4:29 AM and 5:31 AM. Also, the Sayahna Sandhya is slated to take place from 7:04 PM to 8:07 PM.

ASHUBH MUHURAT FOR MAY 13

The ashubh muhurta or inauspicious timings for the day, are as follows: The Rahu Kalam is scheduled to occur from 7:13 AM to 8:55 AM, followed by the Yamaganda Muhurta from 10:36 AM to 12:18 PM, and the Gulikai Kalam Muhurta from 1:59 PM to 3:41 PM.

The Dur Muhurtam is projected to occur in two slots – first between 12:45 PM and 1:39 PM and second from 3:27 PM to 4:21 PM. The Varjyam Muhurta is slated to take place between 7:57 PM and 9:40 PM. Additionally, the Baana Muhurta is expected to occur in Mrityu up to 5:12 PM.
