In shocking visuals that emerged out of Chennai’s Avadi on Sunday, an infant was seen sitting on the edge of a tin roof of an apartment complex. The video that has caught attention on social media showed the dramatic rescue of the baby who allegedly fell from the fourth floor and was hanging on a tin-shade, located just two floors down.
Terrified screams of help can be heard in the video, following which three men attempts to climb up from a first floor window to grab a hold of the infant. As residents are seen holding a bedsheet open on the ground floor to catch the baby incase she falls, a man finally manages to rescue the baby from the tin-roof.

Amidst the loud screams from residents, a man climbs out of the first floor window and stands on the railing to rescue the child. As two other men holds him for support, he grabs the infant hanging on the roof and then passes her to another man inside the apartment.
Speaking to NDTV, Avadi Police Commissioner Shankar told said that the incident occured at a residential community in Avadi in VGN Stafford The baby, apparently fell while her mother was nursing her on the balcony.
“She fell when the mother was nursing her. The video and the rescue are genuine. We have not received any formal complaint. The child is doing fine,” the police commissioner said.
