In a shocking incident from Goa, two brothers, aged 29 and 27 were found dead at their home on Wednesday. Initial investigation into the matter has suggested they died of starvation.
The police also found their mother in an unconscious state at the house. Doctors have pointed out “severe cachexia and malnourishment” as the likely reason for the death of the brothers, police sources said.
Officials as quoted by the Indian Express have said that for several days the family had been eating just one ‘date’ a day. The duo’s mother, Ruksana Khan, is currently undergoing treatment at a government hospital and will soon be sent to the Institute of Psychiatry and Human Behaviour (IPHB), Goa Medical College, for an assessment of her mental health, the Indian Express report stated.
