An astrologer said that according to the Hindu calendar, Nautapa starts every year at the beginning of the Jeth month.
Nautapa, the nine days of the season which record the highest temperature, holds a significant amount of importance in Sanatana dharma. As per the Hindu calendar, this year, Nautapa will commence on May 25 and conclude on June 2.
As per the astrological calculations, the Sun will enter Rohini Nakshatra on May 25 at 03:16 am. Following this, on June 2, the Sun God will enter the Mrigashira Nakshatra. The astrologer said that according to the Hindu calendar, Nautapa starts every year at the beginning of the Jeth month and from a religious angle its time is of 15 days. However, due to the maximum heat in the first 9 days, it is called Nautapa.
As per religious beliefs, it is a tradition to worship the Surya Dev during the Nautapa period. In the nine days of Nautapa, the Sun is believed to be in its fierce form causing the temperature to rise even higher. As per beliefs, it is therefore pertinent to worship the Surya Dev in the Nautapa time.
Worshipping the sun god at this time is believed to protect families from the soaring temperatures. Some of the rituals also add to the happiness and prosperity in the lives of the devotees. It is advised to consume water, curd, milk, coconut water, and other foods with cold temperatures in the Nautapa time. Besides consuming these items, the devotees should also take the initiative to donate them.
The devotees should also follow some precautions during Nautapa 2024.
1. People should not leave the house without eating anything.
2. Women should apply mehndi on their hands and feet during Nautapa because the impact of henna is cold.
3. The devotees should also keep consuming glucose as per the requirement.
4. People should also not consume fried and spicy things and not eat stale leftovers. They should also consume only clean drinking water.
5. People should also wear soft and cotton clothes.
